Católica Webinar Series Promotes Academic Success and Adaptation to Higher Education
2024
On 25 November, UCP4SUCCESS launched the first Webinar in the series “Making University Easier: Strategies for Successful Adaptation”, with the aim of easing students’ adaptation to Higher Education and contributing to academic success. The next sessions take place on 2 and 4 December and 15 January.
Carolina Mano, a student at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, took part in the event and says: “this experience was undoubtedly a valuable opportunity to reflect on my own strategies and learn new approaches that I can apply in the future.”
In this webinar, presented by Cátia Branquinho, Carolina was invited to share the difficulties faced in the first year at university and the strategies adopted to overcome them.
One of the facilitators of this session, Cristina Basílio, a psychologist on the Viseu campus, adds: “The UCP4SUCCESS programme webinars are fundamental in supporting students in their integration and success in higher education.”
“They focus on developing skills that are essential to this process, such as strategies for managing time, organising study and facing other academic challenges. They also promote collaboration among students and strengthen their support network”, she concludes.
This is also the view of Carolina Mano, who stresses that UCP4SUCCESS “promotes a holistic approach to academic success, focusing both on students’ integration and success and on preventing dropout.”
On 2 December, from 4 pm to 5 pm, the second webinar takes place on the theme “Making University Easier: Overcoming Stress and Caring for Well-Being” and on 4 December, from 4 pm to 5 pm, the webinar “In Front of the Mirror: Discover Your Potential” takes place, the result of a collaboration between UCP4SUCCESS and Proteus.
To close this webinar series, on 8 January, from 4 pm to 5 pm, UCP4SUCCESS is organising the webinar “Making University Easier: From Time Management to Academic Success.”
